In Lesvos, as with so many other places in Greece, the impact of the financial devastation is still being felt. Moreover, as with societies all over the world, vulnerable people often fall through the cracks. We can not deny seeing this: in the local population who can not meet their rental payments, those who do not have medical insurance, or those who are living in unstable living conditions. Healthcare is often forsaken among these populations as other costs are prioritized. That's why we have begun to notice and act on the struggle of locals.

In the Fall of 2021, we have launched three different local programs, including supporting women's health in Thermi, providing first aid equipment in multiple townships in Lesvos, and covering medical costs of locals who can not afford private appointments.
